DREAM FOREVER FOUNDATION HIGHLIGHTS
Dream Forever Foundation Awarded Social Justice Grant by NFL Foundation

On Monday, Jameis Winston’s Dream Forever Foundation was
awarded a $5,000 grant from the NFL Foundation as part of the NFL’s initiative
to help players get more involved in social causes within their community. The
grant funding will support the Dream Forever Foundation’s educational programs
for disadvantaged youth in Tampa Bay.
Winston, who was drafted by the Buccaneers in 2015, has been
active in the community since his arrival several years ago. In December, Winston
held his third annual Famous Jameis Jamboree, which treated 20 students from
the local Boys & Girls Club to a dream day at Busch Gardens. At the end of
February, he and WWE star Titus O’Neil hosted 130 students for a special
private screening of the movie “Black Panther.” Just this past week, Winston
and his foundation unveiled their inaugural Jameis’ Dream Room at Alexander Elementary
School. The NFL Foundation Social Justice Grant will allow Winston and his foundation
to continue enriching students’ lives through innovative learning programs.
The NFL Foundation’s Social Justice Grant program provides
grant funding to nonprofit organizations whose missions are focused around
social justice causes and have been financially supported by an NFL Player.
According to the NFL Foundation’s website, the grants are designed to reduce
barriers to opportunity through a focus on education, criminal justice reform,
poverty, racial equality, and many other causes.
There is a growing need for young minds working in science
and technology fields, particularly those from diverse communities. This grant
will allow Winston’s foundation to continue to provide low-income students with
access to state-of-the-art tech equipment, helping to grow interest in STEM
careers within urban schools.
