On Friday evening, Jameis Winston continued the success of his foundation by hosting An Evening with Jameis Winston presented by Candy & Eddie DeBartolo & Family.
Jameis welcomed over 120 guests for this salon-style event at Dimmitt Automotive Group. With featured luxury automobiles on display, guests enjoyed cocktails, small plates, and desserts while mixing and mingling with Jameis. During the night, exclusive signed items were available in the silent auction and an exciting live auction took place all in the name of a great cause, Jameis Winston’s Dream Forever Foundation.
Over $72,000 was raised at the event thanks to foundation supporters, guests, and Tampa Bay’s charitable community. Funds raised at An Evening with Jameis Winston will go towards building additional Jameis Winston’s Dream Room’s.
Guests and sponsors also participated in a VIP Q&A session with Jameis as he shared upcoming foundation plans, community victories throughout the past few months, and other exciting news. Students from Alexander Elementary School, home to Jameis’ first Dream Room, were also in attendance for the Q&A session.
Jameis’ Dream Room is a state-of-the-art technology center located in Title I schools that provide students with technology and expert guidance that will enable students to explore, tinker, design and invent. The Dream Room at Alexander Elementary was opened in April 2018.
During the Q&A session, students and the principal from Alexander Elementary School spoke to the impact that the Dream Room has on their personal learning opportunities.
“To have kids from Alexander Elementary School here at the event is what it is all about. It is about these kids and hosting fundraising events like this so we can continue to impact the Tampa Bay community,” said Winston.
The event was made possible by the following sponsors: Candy & Eddie DeBartolo & Family and GrayRobinson.
After a successful fundraising event Friday evening, Jameis hosted 300 kids for his youth football camp on Saturday and Sunday at the Buccaneers practice facility. Of those 300 kids, Winston was joined by 75 kids from the Florida Special Olympics and 15 kids from his hometown in Alabama.
